Southernmost Hospitality
While the physical appearance of Boyd's may have changed over the years the same "Southernmost Hospitality" way of doing business remains. Being at the end of the Overseas Highway, Boyd realized from an early time that he would need to distinguish his campground from others. Boyd made extra efforts to ensure that his customers were treated like family and their expectations were exceeded. "The best compliment we can ask for is a return customer" he would say. Advertising in the early days was difficult and Boyd knew the value of making an impression on the campers that made it all the way south to see him because "Have you ever met a camper that didn't want to tell you where he's been?"
From the moment you drive into Boyd's entrance you're greeted by Boyd's fountain maxim "Welcome to Paradise". Boyd's was developed as a family campground that welcomes ALL campers.
A friendly staff, clean sites, and a slice of paradise is what to expect from the moment you come through Boyd's gate to the moment you leave.
This week we want to honor Stephanie Trout as our next Employee Spotlight. You can find Stephanie running around Boyd's Boutique making sure everything is in tip top shape! Whether you are looking for the perfect souvenir, an outfit for your sunset cruise, or a piece of the famous key lime pie, she is always there to greet you with a smiling face and provide you with the "Southernmost Hospitality" we are most proud of. Stephanie is one of our seasonal employees and we miss her dearly when she heads back up north for the summer months.
Hurry back Stephanie, we are looking forward to your return in November!
For our next Employee Spotlight, we will be honoring Kenny Gilman. If you have come to Boyd's in the past 4 years, you will most likely recognize Kenny as one of our friendly security guards. Both Kenny and Boyd's Security Cat, Fluffy, make sure to keep our campers happy and safe throughout the night as they make rounds through the campground and greet campers at the entrance. As a long time local, Kenny knows all the fishing secrets of the area and loves to share some of his knowledge with campers. Not only can he catch some nice fish, but he is known for his amazing cooking skills as well!
Kenny brings many smiles to Boyd's and we hope to have him around for many more years to keep spreading the happiness!
We start our in-season Employee Spotlight featuring GrahamHeath. Graham has been an integral part of our Boyd's family for the past 14 years. Graham is a popular and much-loved presence around the campground. With his unique brand of English humor, he truly exemplifies Southern Hospitality. Every camper's needs are his priority, no matter how large or small the request. Graham is retiring this month and returning to his beloved England (and his favorite soccer team, Man U)
All of us here at Boyd's will truly miss Graham and wish him all the best on the next chapter of his journey - retirement! Cheers mate!
